Clinical efficacy analysis of Banxia Houpo decoction combined with Gegen Qinlian decoction in the treatment of chronic pharyngitis

Abstract：Objective To analyze the clinical effect of Banxia Houpo decoction combined with Gegen Qinlian decoction in the treatment of chronic pharyngitis.Methods Forty patients with chronic pharyngitis who visited our hospital from January 2023 to June 2024 were selected as the research subjects.The 40 patients were randomly assigned to a control group and an experimental group using the hidden envelope method,with 20 patients in each group.The control group received conventional Western medicine treatment for chronic pharyngitis,while the experimental group was treated with Banxia Houpo decoction modified and combined with Gegen Qinlian decoction orally on the basis of the control group.The two groups of patients under different treatment regimens were compared in the clinical efficacy,inflammatory factor expression[interleukin-6(IL-6),C-reactive protein(CRP),tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)],adverse reactions,and recurrence rate.Results The effective rate of treatment in the experimental group(95%)was higher than that in the control group(85%)(χ2=2.259,P=0.003).After treatment,the scores of the main and secondary symptoms in the experimental group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment,the expression levels of IL-6,CRP and TNF-α in the experimental group[(4.26±1.15)、(19.38±2.78)、(85.09±10.74)]were lower than those in the control group[(5.35±1.21)、(22.09±2.81)、(98.17±9.86)](t=2.920、3.066、4.012,P=0.006、0.004、<0.001).The incidence and recurrence rate of adverse reactions in the experimental group(10%and 5%,respectively)were lower than those in the control group(20%and 15%,respectively)(χ2=1.090、1.121,P=0.011、0.005).Conclusion The application of Banxia Houpo decoction combined with Gegen Qinlian decoction in the treatment of chronic pharyngitis has significant clinical therapeutic effects,and can comprehensively improve patients'clinical symptoms,with high medication safety and low recurrence rate,thus has clinical promotion value.
