Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of comprehensive rehabilitation training on patients with dysphagia after stroke. Methods A total of 150 patients with dysphagia after stroke admitted to the Department of Rehabilitation of Linyi Central Hospital from January 2021 to December 2024 were selected and randomly divided into a control group(receiving conventional neurotrophic drugs and rehabilitation training)and an observation group(receiving comprehensive rehabilitation training including acupuncture, bioelectrical stimulation, ice stimulation, balloon dilation, etc.),with 75 cases in each group. The scores of choking, dysphagia, and tongue stiffness with speech impairment, the Modified Water Swallowing Test(MWST)grade, the Functional Oral Intake Scale(FOIS)score, and the quality of life(QOL)score were compared between the two groups. Results After treatment in the observation and control groups, the scores of choking[(1.10±0.28)vs(1.74±0.32)],dysphagia[(0.83±0.21)vs(1.29±0.38)],and tongue stiffness with speech impairment[(0.87±0.18)vs(1.40±0.32)]all decreased with the observation group scoring lower than the control group(all P<0.05).After treatment, the MWST grading of both groups of patients improved compared with before treatment, and the observation group was better than the control group(the proportions of grades 1,2,3 and 4 in the observation group were 14.60%,37.33%,34.67%and 13.33%,respectively,while those in the control group were 6.67%,22.60%,46.67%and 24.00%,respectively).The FOIS scores increased in both groups, and the observation group scored higher than the control group[(5.23±0.87)vs(4.75±1.12),P<0.05].After treatment, the language function grading results of the observation group were better than those of the control group:the proportions of grades 1,2 and 3 in the observation group were 22.67%,46.67%and 30.69%,respectively,while those in the control group were 5.33%,37.33%and 57.33%,respectively(Z=14.886,P<0.05).After treatment, the QOL scores of both groups increased, with the observation group scoring higher than the control group[(79.65±9.20)vs(58.92±7.14),t=15.416,P<0.05].Conclusion Comprehensive rehabilitation therapy can improve the swallowing and language functions of post-stroke patients with swallowing disorders, and enhance their quality of life.
