Abstract:Objective To explore the application value of an improved Streptococcus pneumoniae test for acute and chronic sinusitis. Methods 126 patients with acute and chronic sinusitis were selected from January 2023 to January 2024.After sampling all patients, routine test and BOX-PCR test were performed respectively. In comparison of the results of Optochin sensitivity test, the positive rate of Streptococcus pneumoniae, the missed and misdiagnosis rate and the diagnostic sensitivity for Streptococcus pneumoniae infection in the two groups were compared. Results The positive rate of Streptococcus pneumoniae was 93.65%by BOX-PCR test and 74.60%by conventional test(P<0.05).The missed and misdiagnosis rates of BOX-PCR test were 1.09%and 20.59%,while those of conventional test were 20.65%and 61.76%,respectively.The missed and misdiagnosis rates of BOX-PCR test were lower(P<0.05).The specificity and sensitivity of BOX-PCR test were 74.60%and 98.91%respectively,while those of conventional test were 61.76%and 79.35%,respectively.BOX-PCR test had higher diagnostic accuracy and better reliability(P<0.05).Conclusion The improved detection technique has significant value.BOX-PCR technique can effectively improve the detection rate of Streptococcus pneumoniae in sinusitis, with high specificity and sensitivity, and the application effect is good,so it is worthy of promotion.
