Clinical efficacy evaluation of Liyan mixture combined with ear acupressure in the treatment of chronic pharyngitis of yin deficiency and blood stasis type

Abstract：Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of combining the Liyan mixture with ear acupressure treatment for chronic pharyngitis of yin deficiency and blood stasis type.Methods A total of 100 patients with chronic pharyngitis(yin deficiency and blood stasis type)who visited the Otolaryngology Department of Rudong County Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital from August 2020 to August 2023 were selected.There were 51 males and 49 females,aged between 33 to 58 years.The patients were randomly divided into two groups(50 cases each)using a random number table.The control group received routine treatment with Liyan mixture,while the observation group received a combination of Liyan mixture and ear acupressure treatment.Both groups were treated continuously for 4 weeks.Results The clinical effect of the observation group(98%,with only 1 case ineffective)was higher than that of the control group(86%)(χ2=4.891,P<0.05).In the observation group,the symptom improvement time was shorter and the Traditional Chinese Medicine symptom score was lower than those in the control group(P<0.01).Conclusion Compared with Liyan mixture alone,the combination of Liyan mixture and ear acupressure treatment for patients with chronic pharyngitis of yin deficiency and blood stasis type offers greater advantages,making it worthy of clinical reference and promotion.
