Effect of Danhong injection combined with betahistine in the treatment of patients with acute posterior circulation ischemic vertigo

Abstract：Objective To investigate the efficacy of Danhong injection combined with betahistine in the treatment of patients with acute posterior circulation ischemic vertigo.Methods 96 cases were selected for the study from patients with acute posterior circulation ischemic vertigo admitted to our hospital from May 2022 to May 2024.They were randomly divided into three groups:control group(32 cases),Danhong group(32 cases),and combination group(32 cases).The control group was treated with betahistine,the Danhong group was treated with Danhong injection,and the combination group was treated with Danhong injection combined with betahistine.After 7 days of continuous treatment,the clinical efficacy,Dizziness Handicap Inventory(DHI)score,Barthel Index score,and cerebral hemodynamic indicators[basilar artery(BA),left vertebral artery(LVA)and right vertebral artery(RVA)blood flow velocity]were compared among the three groups.Results There was a significant difference in the clinical effective rate among the three groups,and the combination group had a higher effective rate than the Danhong group and the control group separately(P<0.05),but there was no significant difference between the control group and the Danhong group(P>0.05).Compared with results before treatment,the DHI scores of all three groups decreased,with the sequence of control group>Danhong group>combination group.The Barthel scores increased,with the sequence of control group<Danhong group<combination group(P<0.01).The blood flow velocities in BA,LVA and RVA were lower in the control group than in the Danhong group,while those in the combination group were the highest(P<0.01).Conclusion The effective rate of Danhong injection combined with betahistine therapy is high in patients with posterior circulation ischemic vertigo,and it can better improve the dizziness symptoms and daily activity function of patients.And the clinical efficacy of Danhong injection is similar to that of betahistine.
