Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of montelukast Sodium+nasal hormones therapy on children with allergic rhinitis, and to provide reference for disease treatment. Methods A total of 80 pediatric patients with allergic rhinitis who were diagnosed and treated in the Otorhinolaryngology Department of our hospital from 2023 to 2024 were selected as study subjects. They were divided into a test group(40 cases)and a reference group(40 cases)according to the order of admission. The reference group was only treated with nasal steroids(mometasone furoate nasal spray),while the test group was also treated with montelukast sodium besides nasal steroids. The treatment effects, clinical symptom scores, changes in relevant indicators, adverse reactions, and recurrence rates were analyzed between the groups. Results The total effective rate of treatment in the test group(95%)was higher than that in the reference group(80%),with a significant difference(χ2=4.114,P<0.05).The clinical symptom scores in the test group were lower than those in the reference group, with significant differences[nasal congestion:(0.35±0.09)vs(0.42±0.08)points,t=3.676,P=0.000;sneezing:(0.28±0.07)vs(0.34±0.08)points,t=3.569,P=0.000;rhinorrhea:(0.31±0.09)vs(0.39±0.08)points,t=4.201,P=0.000.The levels of eosinophils,IgE and CRP in the test group were lower than those in the reference group, with significant differences(P<0.05).The adverse reaction rate and recurrence rate in the test group were both lower than those in the reference group, with significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion The combined use of montelukast sodium and nasal steroids in the treatment of pediatric allergic rhinitis is effective, significantly improving the levels of eosinophils,CRP and IgE,promoting the disappearance of disease symptoms, and reducing the risk of adverse reactions and recurrence. It is worthy of clinical promotion.
