Abstract:Objective To analyze the clinical efficacy of intensity modulated radiation therapy(IMRT)combined with concurrent chemotherapy in the treatment of locally advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC).Methods A total of 64 locally advanced NPC patients admitted to our hospital from May 2021 to May 2022 were selected and divided into an observation group and a control group according to different treatment regimens. The single group consisted of 32 patients, with the control group receiving conventional radiotherapy and concurrent chemotherapy, and the observation group receiving IMRT therapy and concurrent chemotherapy. The therapeutic effects and incidence of toxic side effects of different treatment regimens were analyzed. Results The therapeutic effect of the observation group was 30/32(93.75%),higher than that of the control group 25/32(78.13%),but P>0.05.The incidence of toxic side effects in the observation group was 11(34.37%),lower than that in the control group(81.25%),P<0.05.Conclusion Intensive conformal radiotherapy(IMRT)combined with concurrent chemotherapy is effective for NPC patients, and its chemotherapy effect is comparable to conventional radiotherapy combined with concurrent chemotherapy, with relatively small toxic side effects. It has the value of promotion and application.
