Efficacy of Banxia Baizhu Tianma Decoction Combined with the Epley Maneuver in Treating phlegm-dampness type posterior semicircular canal otolithiasis

Abstract：Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of Banxia Baizhu Tianma Decoction combined with the Epley maneuver in treating phlegm-dampness type posterior semicircular canal otolithiasis.Methods A total of 98 patients were randomized into two groups.The control group(n=49)received the Epley maneuver alone,while the observation group(n=49)received Banxia Baizhu Tianma Decoction in addition to the Epley maneuver.Results After treatment,,the observation group demonstrated higher effective rate and better quality of life,along with lower recurrence rate,complication rate,and pain score compared to the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The combination of Banxia Baizhu Tianma Decoction and the Epley maneuver is highly effective for treating phlegm-dampness type posterior semicircular canal otolithiasis.This combined therapy can alleviate pain,prevent complications,and improve patients'quality of life.
