Efficacy and side effects of dexamethasone Levofloxacin ear drops in patients with suppurative otitis media

Abstract：Objective To explore the effect of dexamethasone Levofloxacin ear drops in the diagnosis and treatment of suppurative otitis media.Methods A total of 66 patients with suppurative otitis media from March 2003 to March 2022 in our hospital were selected and divided into two groups according to Excel 2021.The control group was treated with Levofloxacin ear drops only,the treatment group was treated with Levofloxacin ear drops and dexamethasone.The clinical efficacy,time of symptom improvement,inflammatory factors and adverse reactions were compared.Results ① clinical effect:the effective rate of the treatment group was higher than that of the control group,the difference was significant(p<0.05);② the time of improvement of symptoms:the time of improvement of tinnitus,purulent discharge and hearing loss in the treatment group was lower than that in the control group,the difference was statistically significant(p<0.05);③ inflammatory factors:Interleukin-8(IL-8)and c-reactive protein(CRP)in the treatment group were significantly lower than those in the control group(p<0.05);④ adverse reaction and clearance rate of pathogenic bacteria:the clearance rate of pathogenic bacteria in the treatment group was higher than that in the control group(p<0.05).There was no significant difference in adverse reaction(dizziness,nausea,etc.)between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion The application of dexamethasone Levofloxacin ear drops in the diagnosis and treatment of suppurative otitis media is effective,and can improve symptoms,reduce inflammatory effect,and increase the clearance rate of pathogenic bacteria.
