Abstract:Objective The bleeding after uvulopalatopharyngoplasty was compared between low temperature plasma surgery and traditional electric knife surgery. Methods A retrospective selection of uvulopalatopharyngoplasty was performed in the General Hospital of Chongqing Iron and Steel Company from July 2014 to January 2023.There were 32 cases in the electric knife group, aged 25-66 years, with an average age of 43.22±12.13 years. There were 64 cases in the plasma group, with an average age of 39.54±10.31 years. The postoperative bleeding rate of the two methods was counted. Results There was no significant difference in the primary bleeding rate between the two surgical methods. The secondary bleeding rate in the plasma group was significantly higher than that in the electrotome group. Conclusion The rate of secondary bleeding after plasma surgery is significantly higher than that of traditional electric knife surgery, which requires our clinical attention.The'8'suture of the lower pole of tonsil and the application of antibiotics after operation can reduce the risk of secondary bleeding.
