Research progress on the impact of environmental pollutants on allergic rhinitis

Abstract：Objective Allergic rhinitis(AR)is the most common airway allergic inflammatory disease,and its prevalence is on the rise worldwide,seriously affecting the physical and mental health and quality of life of patients.Method The relationship between environmental pollution and allergic rhinitis was analyzed based on the previous studies.The effects of environmental pollutants(including environmental endocrine disruptors;formaldehyde;PM;SO2;CO;NOx and O3)on allergic rhinitis were reviewed to provide some reference for the prevention of allergic rhinitis and the control of environmental pollutants in the future.Result In recent years,domestic and foreign academic circles have been active in studying the correlation between environmental pollution and AR.Most scholars believe that environmental endocrine disruptors,PM,SO2,O3 and formaldehyde are significantly correlated with AR,but the influence of CO and NOx on AR is controversial.Conclusion AR is affected by environmental pollutants.Therefore,controlling environmental pollutants should not be ignored in the treatment of allergic rhinitis.
