Abstract:Objective To study the anesthetic effect of dexmedetomidine hydrochloride in tonsillectomy and its effect on postoperative cognitive function. Methods In 80 patients undergoing tonsillectomy from June 2021 to June 2022,40 patients were divided into reference group and test group according to random counting method. After anesthesia induction, reference group used saline for continuous infusion, and test group used dexmedetomidine hydrochloride to compare the two groups with anesthesia quality, vital signs changes during anesthesia and postoperative cognitive function. Results The onset of anesthesia, respiratory recovery, consciousness, and extubation recovery time were lower than the control group,P<0.05.The BIS index and OAA/S scores between the two groups,P>0.05;however,the BIS index and OAA/S score of the group were significantly lower than that of the control group,P<0.05.MMSE scores at 1d,P>0.05;MMSE scores at 4h and 1d were higher than the control group,P<0.05.Conclusion The use of dexmedetomidine hydrochloride in tonsillectomy can improve the quality of anesthesia, maintain the stability of various vital signs during the operation, and have the adjustment effect for postoperative cognitive function, which is worth promoting.
