Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of abduction suspension combined with modified uvula palatopharyngoplasty in the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea syndrome(OSAHS).Method Patients with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome(OSAHS)admitted to Sihong Hospital in Jiangsu Province were selected as the research subjects. The enrollment period was from September 2020 to October 2023.A total of 84 samples were randomly selected and divided into an observation group and a control group, with 42 cases in each group, using the"random number table method"as the grouping method. The observation group underwent abduction suspension combined with modified uvula palatopharyngoplasty, while the control group underwent modified uvula palatopharyngoplasty.Compare the efficacy of two groups and evaluate the changes in apnea hypopnea index(AHI),lowest blood oxygen saturation(LSaO2),and Epworth Sleepiness Scale(ESS)scores before and after treatment.Result Six months after surgery, both groups showed significant improvement in AHI,LSaO2,and ESS scores compared to preoperative levels(P<0.05),and the observation group was superior to the control group(P<0.05).The total effective rate of the observation group(95.23%)was higher than that of the control group(78.57%)(P<0.05).Conclusion The combination of abduction suspension and modified uvula palatopharyngoplasty is effective in treating OSAHS,reducing AHI,increasing minimum oxygen saturation, and improving drowsiness.
