Comparison of the efficacy of lidocaine and carbamazepine in the treatment of subjective tinnitus in the elderly

Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of lidocaine and carbamazepine in the diagnosis and treatment of subjective tinnitus in the elderly.Methods A total of 66 cases of subjective tinnitus in the elderly were selected from the 2021 of January to 2023 of January in our hospital,on the basis of the control group,lidocaine was used in the treatment group.The clinical efficacy,tinnitus severity,adverse reactions and quality of life were compared.Results ①clinical effect:compared with the control group,the clinical effect of the treatment group was significantly increased,the difference was significant(p<0.05);② the severity of tinnitus:the severity of tinnitus in the treatment group was lower than that in the control group,the difference was significant(p<0.05);③adverse reactions:there was no significant difference between the two groups in adverse reactions,such as nausea and vomiting(p>0.05);④quality of life:after 6-month follow-up,the quality of life(such as psychological/social function,vitality,etc.)in the treatment group was significantly higher than that in the control group,the difference was significant(p<0.05).Conclusion The therapeutic effect of lidocaine and carbamazepine on subjective tinnitus in the elderly is better than that of single carbamazepine,which can reduce the severity of tinnitus,and the combined use of lidocaine and carbamazepine has high safety and good prognosis.
