Application value of spiral CT in the diagnosis of laryngeal carcinoma and cervical lymph node metastasis

Abstract：Objective To evaluate the diagnostic value of spiral CT in cervical lymph node metastasis of laryngeal and laryngeal cancer,and to provide reference for the clinical diagnosis of the disease.Methods The study period was from March 2021 to March 2010,and 63 patients with laryngeal cancer admitted to our hospital during this period were selected.All patients underwent routine ultrasonography and multi-slice spiral CT examination.Pathological diagnosis results were taken as the gold standard,and lymph node metastasis,accuracy,specificity and sensitivity of the two diagnostic methods were analyzed.Results Pathological results showed that there were 19 patients with cervical lymph node metastasis among 63 patients,accounting for 30.16％,and 44 cases without metastasis,accounting for 69.84％.Routine ultrasonic examination results showed that 15 patients with cervical lymph node metastasis,accounting for 23.81％,and 48 patients without metastasis,accounting for 76.19％.The results of multi-slice spiral CT showed that there were 20 patients with cervical lymph node metastasis,accounting for 31.75％,and 43 patients without metastasis,accounting for 68.23％.The accuracy,specificity and sensitivity of multislice spiral CT were significantly higher than those of conventional ultrasonography,and the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).There was no statistical value between the staging results of multi-slice spiral CT and the postoperative pathological results(P＞0.05).Conclusion Spiral CT examination for laryngeal cancer patients can effectively diagnose whether there is cervical lymph node metastasis in patients,and also can determine the preoperative staging,with high detection accuracy and sensitivity,which can provide guidance for clinical surgical treatment and postoperative rehabilitation program formulation.
