Application of micropacking with gelatin sponge containing budesonide after sinus endoscopic surgery

Abstract：Objective To investigate the effect of budesonide gelatin sponge micropacking on nasal outcome after endoscopic sinus surgery.Methods The left nasal cavity was selected as the treatment group and the right nasal cavity as the control group.In the treatment group,dilating sponge was extracted from the intraoperative cavity and then budesonide gelatin sponge was given for micro-packing;in the control group,budesonide nasal spray was given to observe the outcome of the intraoperative cavity mucosa.Results The nasal cavity secretions in the treatment group were reduced and the nasal mucosa reaction was mild 3 months after the micropacking with budesonide gelatin sponge.The epithelialization was significantly shortened,and the difference was statistically significant compared with the control group.Conclusion Microtamping with budesonide gelatin sponge after endoscopic sinus surgery can significantly promote mucosal evolution,accelerate epithelialization,and alleviate postoperative inflammatory reaction.
