Non-invasive correction of congenital auricle deformity with auricular deformity corrector in 17 cases

Abstract:Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of of the Earwell auricle deformity corrector for non-invasive correction of congenital auricle deformity.Methods To analyze the clinical data of non-invasive correction of congenital auricle deformity with Earwell auricular deformity corrector in the otolaryngology outpatient department of hospital from March 2021 to December 2021.There were 17 cases of 29 ears,including 8 males,9 females,12 binaural cases and 5 monaural cases.After the correct placement of the Earwell auricle deformity corrector,it was properly worn every day and reviewed once a week for 3 months.To observe the effect of correction,the time of correction,the incidence of complications and recurrence rate.Results 17 children with 29 ears congenital auricle deformity received a complete treatment plan,100%success rate,including 1 child with 1° auricular structural deformity,satisfaction 100%(93.1%very satisfied).Only 1 patient(2 ears)developed mild eczema.Conclusion This study shows that the Earwell auricle deformity corrector has good efficacy and safety in the treatment of congenital auricle deformities.The earlier the correction after birth,the better the effect.At the same time,early correction can shorten the correction time and prevent the occurrence of complications.
