Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of betahistine, mecobalamin combined with tympanic injection of dexamethasone in the treatment of middle-aged and elderly patients with sudden deafness. Methods A retrospective study was conducted on 50 middle-aged and elderly patients with sudden deafness who were treated in the Department of Otolaryngology of our hospital from March 1,2021 to August 31,2021.Twenty-five patients with dexamethasone were set as the control group, and 25 patients with betahistine+mecobalamin+tympanic injection of dexamethasone were set as the research group. The clinical efficacy, incidence of complications, and pure-tone hearing threshold before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. The clinical efficacy, incidence of complications, and air conduction hearing threshold before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. Results In terms of total effective rate, the study group(96%)was higher than the control group(72%);in terms of complication rate, the study group(0%)was lower than the control group(20%),statistical comparison There are differences(P<0.05).Before treatment, the air conduction hearing threshold of the two groups was compared, and there was no statistical difference(P>0.05).Conclusion The efficacy and safety of betahistine, mecobalamin combined with tympanic injection of dexamethasone in the treatment of middle-aged and elderly sudden deafness are very significant, and it can effectively improve the hearing condition of patients.
