Abstract:Objective To explore the significance of upper airway management in reducing post-operative com-plications of obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome. Methods Retrospective analysis of the clinical data of 48 OSAHS patients with H-UPPP was completed. All the patients were divided into two groups according to preoperative interventions. And the clinical records were analyzed. Results There were not severe complications in the group with active interventions, with high oxy-gen saturation at night, improved life quality, and shortened hospi-talization duration in average. The difference between two groups was significant(P<0.05). Conclusion The active interventions and airway management obviously decreased the incidence of surgical complications, and avoided serious airway complications in OSAHS patients with H-UPPP.
