Abstract:This study systematically reviews the current research landscape of medical complaints in China, with the objectives of synthesizing key research themes, methodologies, and findings, while providing evidence-based recommendations for future research and practice improvement.A comprehensive literature search was conducted in the Wanfang database, yielding 154 eligible articles published from January 2010 to July 2025.Through content analysis, two predominant research themes were identified:(1)Descriptive analysis of complaint patterns, primarily employing retrospective methods to examine fundamental data including complaint incidence rates, departmental distribution characteristics, and causes of complaints;and(2)Complaint management studies, which incorporate multidisciplinary theoretical frameworks from psychology, behavioral economics, and management science to investigate process optimization, institutional development, and the establishment of preventive mechanisms and resolution models for medical complaints.Based on the analytical findings, this study proposes constructive recommendations from three dimensions-theoretical development, methodological innovation, and practical application-to advance China's medical complaint research system and enhance complaint management practices in healthcare institutions.
