Journey Through the Flames of War:Wan Fuen and Chinese Wartime Medical Aid

Abstract:Wan Fuen(1900-1961)graduated from Peking Union Medical College in 1927 with a doctoral degree and remained there to teach.He was a renowned field surgeon in China.Wan Fuen was determined to study surgery and participate in medical rescue work during his time at Peking Union Medical College,which played a guiding role in his becoming a renowned field surgeon.After graduation,Wan Fuen always put his patriotic feelings first and fought on the front line of battlefield rescue without hesitation,making significant contributions to Chinese battlefield rescue cause.This article intends to discuss Wan Fuen's deeds in leading medical personnel to participate in battlefield rescue during the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the Korean War,and analyze the significant historical significance of his battlefield rescue.Wan Fuen's superb medical skills,noble medical ethics and strong patriotic spirit will always inspire the medical workers who come after him to keep moving forward.
