Abstract:Against the backdrop of accelerated global aging, the prevalence of dementia among elderly populations has witnessed a persistent upward trajectory, presenting distinctive challenges in end-of-life palliative care. This study conducts a systematic analysis of the current landscape of dementia palliative care in China, with particular emphasis on three critical dimensions:communication barriers, caregiver burden, and nutritional management difficulties. In response to these challenges,we propose a tripartite intervention framework encompassing optimized symptom management protocols, implementation of advance care planning, and refinement of legal policy frameworks. These evidence-based strategies aim to achieve dual objectives:enhancing quality of life for dementia patients while mitigating caregiver strain. The findings provide a substantive reference point for future policy formulation and clinical practice development in dementia palliative care.
