Abstract:This interview centers on Professor Chris Berry's interdisciplinary engagement with Sinophone cinema and health humanities.He reflects on the serendipitous beginnings of his academic path,outlining his transitions from film studies to health humanities and the contributions he has made along the way.Professor Berry emphasizes the unique value of film in addressing topics such as social trauma,health communication,and technological fragility.The conversation also delves into the differences between Chinese and Western approaches to medical humanities,the potential impact of digital environments on well-being,and the role of film in health education and emotional regulation.Furthermore,Professor Berry suggests that combining posthumanist perspective with film studies offers new theoretical possibilities for health humanities,and he calls for more interdisciplinary and cross-cultural collaboration in the future.
