Abstract:In the practice of modern Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)education,a"cultural aphasia"is prevalent, manifesting as an emphasis on technical skills over the humanities,a lack of student autonomy, and a disregard for the philosophical depth of the classics.Tracing this to its source reveals deviated educational goals, entrenched cognitive models, and a deficiency in cultural confidence. In this context,Confucius's concept of the"love of learning"provides an invaluable frame of reference.Centered on"learning for oneself",this concept advocates for cultivating virtue, comprehending the natural law, integrating thought with practice, and tailoring teaching to the student. The value orientation of this philosophy can effectively recalibrate current educational objectives and reinforce physician ethics. Its cosmological view helps reshape cultural identity and deepen the holistic thinking central to TCM.Furthermore, its pedagogical methods offer an effective path to connect theory with practice and stimulate students'intrinsic motivation.Drawing from Confucian wisdom can powerfully propel TCM education back to its humanistic and cultural foundations, opening a new direction for cultivating"Great Physicians"who are masters of both the Dao and medical techniques, guided by benevolent hearts and skillful hands, thus ensuring the inheritance of the cultural treasure that is TCM.
