Abstract:The"Life Review Theory"was proposed by Butler in 1963,and narrative medicine has developed it into the"Bio-narrative Integration"theory. It aids individuals in reshaping their sense of life's meaning and accepting their unique journey, which serves as an effective psychosomatic intervention tool for end-of-life care. This study presents a structured approach employed by medical social workers, following steps of"narration and recording, theme identification, reconstruction and integration, creation of a tangible medium,as well as sharing and reflection."Through six interviews, this method assisted colon cancer patient H in composing and completing a life story book. The article summarizes three key strategies"breaking the ice","being present"and"preparation"emphasizing the importance of creating a safe space for expression, emotional synchronization with the patient, and preparation for death.
