Abstract:Objective To explore the effectiveness of nursing interventions based on Swanson's theory of caring in special inpatient patients. Methods A randomized controlled trial was conducted, involving 102 special inpatient patients admitted to a tertiary hospital in Shanghai from March to October 2023,according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. The patients were randomly assigned to either the control group or the observation group using a random number table. The observation group(52 patients)received personalized nursing care based on Swanson's theory of caring, while the control group(50 patients)received routine nursing care. The differences in patient comfort and satisfaction between the two groups were compared based on the interventions. Results After the nursing intervention based on Swanson's theory of caring, the observation group showed higher scores for comfort and nursing satisfaction compared to the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion Nursing interventions based on Swanson's theory of caring can improve the comfort and nursing satisfaction of special inpatient patients. This theory has significant application and promotion value.
