Abstract:Based on cultural communication theory, this study systematically explores optimization pathways for emotional design of hospital wayfinding signage systems within the framework of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)culture, using The Hospital of integrated traditional chinese and western medicine as a case study.Through literature analysis to review domestic and international research status, field investigations to examine existing signage issues, and comparative case studies of exemplary designs, the research identifies prevalent problems including insufficient cultural attributes, disorganized spatial layouts, and inadequate human-centered design.Incorporating the TCM concept of"harmony between heaven and humanity"within the three-level theoretical framework of emotional design, the study innovatively proposes improvement solutions integrating TCM cultural elements such as the Five-Element color system and yin-yang balanced composition.Empirical results demonstrate that the optimized wayfinding system significantly reduces patient anxiety indices, steadily improves medical service satisfaction, and effectively enhances hospital cultural communication. The findings provide theoretical foundations and practical paradigms for cultural communication and emotional experience design in healthcare spaces.
