On the Educational Function of Art Courses under the Perspective of Medical Humanities

Abstract:Medical humanities education should cultivate medical students with humanistic qualities that are conducive to their career development.Through the study of art courses,medical students can expand their aesthetic horizons,gain unique perspectives from aesthetic education,and understand the emotional needs of patients.The appreciation and creation of art works cultivate medical students'observation and critical thinking,and provide them with emotional catharsis and spiritual comfort.Art courses can promote medical students'emotional expression and communication skills.Interdisciplinary teaching can also highlight the complementarity between disciplines.Art courses under the perspective of medical humanities are not only to enrich extracurricular life,but also to comprehensively cultivate the comprehensive qualities of medical students,so that they can become fully developed medical personnel with medical skills and humanistic care.
