Abstract:Rare disease patients often develop stigma due to social prejudice and medical limitations, leading to self-stigmatization,psychological isolation, and further affecting their physical and mental health. From the perspective of intersubjectivity, the formation of stigma is not only due to neglection, discrimination, and exclusion in the family, school, and social environment, but also deeply influenced by the presence of the body and the mode of subject interaction. The traditional social cognitive model emphasizes rationality and norms, while intersubjectivity highlights the presence of the body and the involvement of emotions, intuition, and instincts.Taking the experience of Tourette's disease patient in the movie Front of the Class as an example,it can be found that the stigma of rare disease patients is exacerbated by their physical performance not being recognized by society. Therefore, promoting interaction based on physical experience can effectively resolve the stigma by establishing positive inter subject relationships in an atmosphere of family support, school tolerance, and social acceptance.
