Abstract:Objective To investigate the efficacy of Sophora gel combined with vitamin C and fluconazole in the treatment of recurrent vulvovaginal candidiasis(RVVC).Methods A total of 116 patients with RVVC who received targeted treatment at Chengde Central Hospital from April 2022 to April 2024 were randomized using a computer-generated random num-ber sequence, and finally 53 cases were included in each group. The control group was treated with vitamin C and fluconazole, while the observation group was given additional Sophora gel on this basis. The clinical efficacy, recurrence rates at 3 and 6 months of follow-up,symptom improvement time, levels of inflammatory factors before and after treatment, and adverse reac-tions were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate in observation group was 83.02%(44/53),higher than that in the control group(64.15%(34/53)),with a statistically significant difference(χ2=4.853,P=0.028).At 3 and 6 months of follow-up,the recurrence rates in the observation group(3.77%(2/53)and 7.55%(4/53),respectively)were lower than those in the control group(16.98%(9/53)and 24.53%(13/53),respectively),with statistically significant differences(χ2=4.970,5.675,P=0.026,0.017).After treatment, the improvement times for abnormal vaginal discharge, vulvar itching, and vaginal burning pain in the observation group((6.40±0.77),(7.23±0.75),(7.21±0.95)days,respectively)were shorter than those in the control group((7.94±0.86),(8.92±0.92),(8.15±0.84)days,respectively),with statistically significant differences(t=9.712,10.365,5.396,all P<0.05).After treatment, the levels of interleukin-6,tumor necrosis factor-α,and C-reactive protein in the observation group((1.73±0.24)pg/mL,(2.60±0.54)pg/mL,(3.53±0.35)mg/L,respectively)were lower than those in the control group((2.27±0.35)pg/mL,(3.72±0.88)pg/mL,(4.45±0.62)mg/L,respectively),with statistically significant differences(t=9.263,7.898,9.407,all P<0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group and the control group(5.66%(3/53)and 7.55%(4/53),re-spectively)showed no statistically significant difference(Fisher's exact test,P>0.05).Conclusion Sophora gel as an adjunct to vitamin C and fluconazole demonstrates favorable efficacy in the treatment of recurrent fungal vaginitis. It can reduce recurrence rates and inflammatory factor levels, alleviate clinical symptoms, and exhibit a high safety profile.
