Abstract:Objective To establish the drug utilization evaluation(DUE)criteria for acetylcysteine solution for inha-lation and evaluate its clinical application using the technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution(TOPSIS)method. Methods A retrospective evaluation method was adopted.Based on the instructions for acetylcysteine solution for inhalation, relevant domestic and international guidelines and consensus,evidence-based medicine databases and pertinent literatures, evaluation criteria for this medication were established.Using these criteria,a retrospective evaluation was conducted through the TOPSIS method on 197 medical records of patients using acetylcysteine solution for inhalation at the Fifth Medical Center of Chinese PLA General Hospital from January 1 to December 31,2023.Results The DUE criteria for acetylcysteine solution for inhalation was established, comprising 13 evaluation indicators.Among 197 medical records evaluated,75 cases(38.07%,75/197)achieved an ideal relative closeness(Ci)of 1.0,26 cases(13.20%,26/197)had 0.8≤Ci<1.0,and 96 cases(48.73%,96/197)scored 0.6≤Ci<0.8.The existing unreasonable prob-lems are mainly manifested in the indication, course of disease, course of treatment, drug interaction, repeated use of drugs and so on.Conclusion The rational use evaluation of acetylcysteine solution for inhalation based on the weighted TOPSIS method is simple and easy to implement, and the evaluation results are scientific, objective, reasonable and standardized.
