Abstract:Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of modified Suoquan Pill combined with transurethral re-section of the prostate(TURP)in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH)with kidney deficiency and blood stasis syndrome. Methods A retrospective study selected 49 BPH patients with kidney deficiency and blood stasis syndrome who received modified Suoquan Pill combined with TURP at the First Affiliated Hospital of Henan University of Chinese Medicine between January 2022 and December 2024 as the combination group.Using propensity score matching,49 BPH patients with kidney deficiency and blood stasis syndrome who underwent TURP alone were selected as the monotherapy group. The mono-therapy group received tamsulosin postoperatively, while the combination group received additional modified Suoquan Pill. Both groups were treated for 4 weeks.Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)syndrome scores,International Prostate Symptom Score(IPSS),urodynamic parameters, serological indicators, and hemodynamic indicators were compared between the two groups before treatment and after 4 weeks of treatment. The clinical efficacy of the two groups was also compared. Results After treatment, the TCM syndrome score,IPSS,residual urine volume in the bladder, and levels of vascular endothelial growth fac-tor,transforming growth factor-β1,whole blood high shear viscosity, whole blood low shear viscosity and plasma viscosity in the combination group((12.51±1.27)points,(9.24±2.75)points,(18.12±4.51)mL,(95.31±13.17)pg/mL,(14.32±2.47)μg/L,(4.21±0.54)mPa/s,(7.63±0.86)mPa/s,(1.38±0.21)mPa/s,respectively)were all lower than those in the monotherapy group((15.89±1.56)points,(11.36±2.58)points,(21.67±4.13)mL,(114.81±14.62)pg/mL,(18.49±2.58)μg/L,(4.98±0.61)mPa/s,(9.31±1.02)mPa/s,(1.64±0.32)mPa/s,respectively)(t=11.762,3.936,4.064,6.937,8.172,6.616,8.814,4.755,all P<0.05).The maximum urinary flow rate and average urinary flow rate in the combination group((17.47±2.26)mL/s,(12.73±2.24)mL/s,re-spectively)were both higher than those in the monotherapy group((14.23±1.95)mL/s,(10.34±1.87)mL/s,respectively)(t=7.598,5.733,both P<0.05).The total effective rate in the combination group was 95.92%(47/49),significantly higher than 81.63%(40/49)in the monotherapy group(χ2=5.018,P<0.05).Conclusion The modified Suoquan Pill combined with TURP can effec-tively inhibit the hyperplasia of prostate tissue in BPH patients with kidney deficiency and blood stasis syndrome, improve the clinical symptoms and urodynamic parameters, demonstrating significant clinical efficacy.
