Efficacy of edaravone dexborneol combined with alteplase in the treatment of acute cerebral infarction

Abstract：Objective To investigate the efficacy of edaravone dexborneol combined with alteplase in the treatment of acute cerebral infarction(ACI)and its effects on coagulation function and prognosis.Methods A total of 78 patients with ACI admitted to Luoyang Petrochemical Hospital from November 2022 to November 2024 were retrospectively selected.Ac-cording to different treatment methods,they were divided into two groups.The edaravone group(40 patients)received edara-vone dexborneol combined with alteplase,and the alteplase group(38 patients)received alteplase alone.Both groups received continuous treatment for 14 days.The clinical efficacy and incidence of adverse reactions after 14 days of treatment,activated partial thromboplastin time(APTT),prothrombin time(PT),Barthel Index(BI)scores before and after 14 days of treatment,were compared between the two groups.Results After treatment,the total effective rate in the edaravone group was 92.50%(37/40),significantly higher than 71.05%(27/38)in the alteplase group(χ2=6.087,P＜0.05).After treatment,APTT values were(35.7±6.1)s and(32.1±5.2)s,and PT values were(16.2±1.2)s and(12.9±1.4)s in the edaravone group and the alteplase group,respectively,which were higher than pre-treatment levels(APTT:(26.6±5.3)s,(26.3±5.5)s;PT:(11.5±0.5)s,(11.3±0.8)s).The levels in the edaravone group were significantly higher than those in the alteplase group(t=2.810,11.151,both P＜0.05).BI scores in the edaravone group and the alteplase group((58.8±6.0)points,(51.5±6.2)points,respectively)were higher than pre-treatment scores((31.2±5.3)points,(31.6±5.2)points,respectively),with the edaravone group showing a significantly higher BI score than the alteplase group(t=5.284,P＜0.05).After 14 days of treatment,the incidence of adverse reactions was 10.00%(4/40)in the edaravone group and 21.05%(8/38)in the alteplase group,with no statistically significant difference(χ2=1.829,P=0.176).Conclusion Edaravone dexborneol combined with alteplase demonstrates good efficacy in the treatment of ACI.It can simultaneously improve patients'coagulation function and prognosis,with a high safety profile.
