A systematic review of Cinobufacini Capsules combined with chemotherapy in the treatment of advanced gastric cancer

Abstract：Objective To systematically evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of the combination of Cinobu-facini Capsules and chemotherapy and its impact on the quality of life of patients in the treatment of advanced gastric cancer.Methods Systematically retrieve randomized controlled trials on the combination of Cinobufacini Capsules with chemotherapy for advanced gastric cancer from January 2014 to August 2025 from the CNKI,PubMed,Embase,CBM,VIP,and Wanfang data-bases.Screen the literature,extract data,and perform a pooled analysis.Results A total of 17 Chinese literatures were included,involving a total of 1 284 patients.Among them,644 cases in the experimental group were treated with Cinobufacini Capsules combined with chemotherapy,while 640 cases in the control group were treated with chemotherapy alone.All 17 studies reported clinical treatment effective rate.After excluding dropouts,the total effective rate in the experimental group was 45.48%(292/642),significantly higher than 29.36%(187/637)in the control group(χ2=35.498,P<0.05).Five studies reported pain relief rates,with the experimental group showing a higher pain relief rate of 62.16%(115/185)compared to 37.22%(67/180)in the control group(χ2=22.699,P<0.05).Five studies assessed quality of life improvement,with the experimental group demonstrating a higher total improvement rate of 78.06%(242/310)versus 60.98%(186/305)in the control group(χ2=21.197,P<0.05).All 17 studies report-ed adverse reactions,with a lower incidence in the experimental group(32.40%,208/642)than in the control group(51.18%,326/637)(χ2=46.363,P<0.05).The primary adverse reactions included hematological and gastrointestinal symptoms,and the ex-perimental group had a lower incidence of grade Ⅲ-Ⅳ severe adverse reactions.Conclusion The combination of Cinobufacini Capsules and chemotherapy in the treatment of advanced gastric cancer can improve clinical efficacy,reduce adverse reactions of chemotherapy,relieve pain and improve the quality of life of patients.It has good safety and high clinical application value.How-ever,the included studies have a risk of bias,and there is a lack of long-term follow-up data and long-term treatment effect evalua-tion.The impact on the long-term prognosis of patients with advanced gastric cancer awaits further study.
