Efficacy of Xian Yimucao capsules combined with dydrogesterone on treatment of DUB patients and its impact on sex hormones

Abstract：Objective To explore the efficacy of Xian Yimucao capsules combined with dydrogesterone in treat-ment of patients with dysfunctional uterine bleeding(DUB)and observe the impact on sex hormones.Methods A total of 76 patients with DUB who were treated in Wenzhou Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine from March 2023 to September 2024 were enrolled in the study and randomly divided into two groups using a random number table method.The control group with 38 cases was treated with dydrogesterone and the observation group with 38 cases was given Xian Yimucao capsules in addition to dydrogesterone,with 21 days a cycle;both groups were treated for 3 cycles.The clinical cu-rative effect,hemostasis time,endometrial thickness,hemoglobin level,sex hormone level,and incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups after treatment.Results The total effective rate of the observation group was 89.47%(34/38),higher than 71.05%(27/38)of the control group(χ2=4.070,P<0.05).After treatment,the time to control bleeding and the time to complete hemostasis of the observation group were respectively(15.74±6.42)days and(27.49±5.92)days,shorter than(23.52±5.29)days and(38.46±6.84)days of the control group(t=5.765,7.475,both P<0.05).The endometrial thickness of the two groups decreased and the hemoglobin level increased;the endometrial thickness of the observation group was(5.03±1.25)mm,lower than(6.87±1.81)mm of the control group(t=5.156,P<0.05);the hemoglobin level of the observation group was(118.32±12.68)g/L,higher than(108.13±13.09)g/L of the control group(t=3.447,P<0.05).The levels of estradiol,lutein-izing hormones and follicle stimulating hormones of the two groups decreased;the levels of estradiol,luteinizing hormones and follicle stimulating hormones of the observation group were respectively(147.75±17.42)pg/mL,(9.06±1.09)IU/L and(7.41±1.26)IU/L,lower than(175.34±18.42)pg/mL,(10.23±1.22)IU/L and(8.69±1.27)IU/L of the control group(t=6.708,4.409,4.411,all P<0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions was 5.26%(2/38)in the observation group and 13.16%(5/38)in the control group,and there was no statistically significant difference(χ2=0.629,P>0.05).Conclusion The combination of Xian Yimucao capsules and dydrogesterone has positive effect on treatment of the DUB patients,and it can effectively improve the bleeding and anemia conditions,promote the endometrial repair,and regulate the sex hormone level,demonstrating a favorable safety profile.
