Clinical evaluation of Jianwei Yuyang Granules and teprenone in the treatment of chronic superficial gastritis

Abstract：Objective To explore the efficacy of Jianwei Yuyang Granules and teprenone in the treatment of chronic superficial gastritis(CSG)and its impact on recurrence.Methods A total of 104 patients with CSG treated at Suzhou Kowloon Hospital from February 2021 to February 2024 were retrospectively analyzed and divided into the control group(n=53)and the observation group(n=51)according to the treatment regimens.The control group received basic treatment and teprenone capsules,and the observation group received basic treatment,teprenone capsules and Jianwei Yuyang Granules.Both groups received continuous treatment for 8 weeks and followed up for 3 months after treatment.The total clinical effective rate,visual analogue scale(VAS)scores,activities of daily living scale(ADL)scores,traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)syndrome scores,and the levels of serum inflammatory factors(C-reactive protein(CRP),monocyte chemoattractant protein-1(MCP-1),inter-leukin-8(IL-8))before and after treatment,the incidence of adverse reactions(constipation,diarrhea,dizziness and dry mouth)during treatment,and the recurrence rate after 3 months of follow-up were compared between two groups.Results The total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group(96.08%(49/51)vs 79.25%(42/53))(χ2=6.773,P=0.009).After treatment,the VAS and TCM syndrome scores of both groups decreased,and the above indicators in the ob-servation group((1.96±0.43)points,(7.11±1.06)points,respectively)were lower than those in the control group((3.54±0.71)points,(12.98±1.94)points,respectively)(t=13.662,19.246,both P<0.05).After treatment,the ADL scores of both groups in-creased,and the indicator in the observation group((90.32±8.12)points)was higher than that in the control group((82.47±6.59)points)(t=5.423,P<0.05).After treatment,the serum levels of CRP,MCP-1,and IL-8 decreased in both groups,and these in-dicators in the observation group((8.95±1.79)μg/L,(60.06±10.81)pg/mL,(11.73±1.76)ng/mL,respectively)were lower than those in the control group((11.34±2.25)μg/L,(79.48±14.30)pg/mL,(17.56±2.63)ng/mL,respectively)(t=5.980,7.790,13.233,all P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(22.64%(12/53)vs 9.80%(5/51))(χ2=3.132,P=0.077).After 3 months of follow-up,the recurrence rate of the control group was higher than that of the observation group(24.53%(13/53)vs 5.88%(3/51))(χ2=6.941,P=0.008).Conclusion The combination of Ji-anwei Yuyang Granules and tepreone in the treatment of CSG can enhance the total effective rate by comprehensively improving the symptoms,TCM syndromes,and functional quality of life,reducing serum inflammatory factors,lowering the recurrence rate,without increasing adverse reactions.
