Efficacy and safety of tegoprazan tablets as an adjuvant treatment for elderly patients with reflux esophagitis

Abstract：Objective To explore the efficacy and safety of tegoprazan tablets as an adjuvant treatment for elderly patients with reflux esophagitis.Methods A total of 82 elderly patients with reflux esophagitis admitted to the Second People's Hospital of Huai'an from August 2024 to June 2025 were divided into a single-drug group(41 cases)and a combination group(41 cases)by random number table method.The single-drug group was treated with mosapride citrate tablets,and the combination group was treated with tigoprazan tablets on the basis of the control group for 2 weeks.The therapeutic effects,the incidence of adverse reactions,the scores of Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease Questionnaire(GerdQ)and Reflux Disease Questionnaire(RDQ)before and after treatment,gastric emptying and semi-emptying times,and levels of gastrin and motilin were compared between the two groups.Results The total effective rate of the combination group was 95.12%(39/41),higher than that of the single-drug group(80.49%(33/41))(χ2=4.100,P<0.05).The incidence of adverse reaction in the combination group was 4.88%(2/41),which was comparable to that in the single-drug group at 2.44%(1/41)(χ2=0.000,P>0.05).After treatment,the GerdQ and RDQ scores,gastric semi-emptying and gastric emptying times of the combination group((5.85±0.49)points,(6.23±0.85)points,(27.16±2.05)min,(35.46±2.00)min,respectively)were all lower than those of the single-drug group((6.95±0.54)points,(7.95±1.00)points,(30.26±2.12)min,(39.65±1.82)min,respectively)(t=9.659,8.392,6.731,9.922,all P<0.001).After treat-ment,the levels of gastrin and motilin in the combination group((75.45±3.64)ng/L and(150.65±5.23)g/L,respectively)were higher than those in the single-drug group((69.56±2.95)ng/L and(141.54±4.52)ng/L,respectively)(t=8.050,8.439,both P<0.001).Conclusion Tegoprazan tablets have a good therapeutic effect in the adjuvant treatment of elderly patients with re-flux esophagitis,and it can effectively improve the clinical symptoms and gastrointestinal function of patients.
