Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of semaglutide combined with metformin in treating dia-betic kidney disease(DKD).Methods A total of 116 DKD patients treated at Hai'an People's Hospital from January 2023 to December 2024 were enrolled and divided into a control group and an observation group using the random number table method. The control group was given metformin, while the observation group was given semaglutide on this basis. Both groups under-went three months of treatment. The clinical efficacy, the levels of glucose metabolism indicators(fasting blood glucose,glycat-ed hemoglobin and 2 hour postprandial blood glucose)and renal function indicators(serum creatinine, urea nitrogen and urinary albumin/creatinine ratio),and the occurrence of adverse reactions were compared between the observation group and the control group. Results The total effective rate in the observation group was 89.66%(52/58),higher than that in the control group(72.41%(42/58))(χ2=5.609,P<0.05).After treatment, the levels of fasting blood glucose,2-hour postprandial blood glucose and glycated hemoglobin in the observation group and the control group decreased, and the above indicators in the observation group((6.28±0.82)mmol/L,(7.47±0.54)mmol/L,(5.52±0.56)%,respectively)were lower than those in the control group((6.98±0.99)mmol/L,(7.98±0.65)mmol/L,(6.02±0.62)%,respectively)(t=4.147,4.596,4.558,all P<0.05).After treatment, the levels of serum creatinine, urea nitrogen, and urinary albumin/creatinine ratio in the observation group and the control group decreased, and the above indicators in the observation group((111.15±28.42)μmol/L,(4.82±0.45)mmol/L,(25.20±6.45)mg/g,respectively)were lower than those in the control group((142.45±30.89)μmol/L,(5.30±0.35)mmol/L,(30.78±6.58)mg/g,respectively)(t=5.625,6.412,4.612,all P<0.05).The total incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group was 10.34%(6/58),higher than that in the control group(8.62%(5/58))(χ2=1.253,P>0.05).Conclusion Semaglutide combined with metformin has a definite therapeutic effect on the treatment of DKD,effectively reducing blood glucose levels, improving clinical symptoms and renal function, with few adverse reactions and high safety.
