Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical therapeutic effect of the combined application of diclofenac sodium and ozone in patients with knee osteoarthritis and its impact on the degree of pain level and joint function of patients. Methods A total of 67 pa-tients with knee osteoarthritis treated in Ningde Municipal Hospital of Ningde Normal University from March 2022 to February 2025 were retrospectively selected as research subjects and divided into an observation group(n=34)and a comparison group(n=33)ac-cording to the treatment methods. The comparison group was given oral diclofenac sodium sustained-release capsules for treatment, and the observation group was treated with oral diclofenac sodium sustained-release capsules combined with ozone joint cavity in-jection.The clinical efficacy, the degree of pain(assessed by the Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)),joint function(evaluated via Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index(WOMAC))and the serum inflammatory factor levels were compared be-tween the observation group and the comparison group before and after treatment. The incidence of adverse reactions was recorded. Results The total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the comparison group(91.18%(31/34)vs 69.70%(23/33))(χ2=4.941,P<0.05).In the observation group, both the total score of WOMAC and the pain VAS score were lower than those in the comparison group((2.34±1.22)points vs(3.23±1.27)points,(22.45±4.77)points vs(30.66±4.68)points)(t=2.926,7.109,both P<0.05).The levels of interleukin-1β,interleukin-6,and tumor necrosis factor-α in the observation group were also significantly lower than those in the comparison group((9.34±1.23)ng·L-1 vs(18.34±2.17)ng·L-1,(31.34±4.23)pg·mL-1 vs(46.44±4.51)pg·mL-1,(58.67±6.34)ng·L-1 vs(66.12±6.71)ng·L-1)(t=20.964,14.140,4.673,all P<0.05).In terms of adverse reaction rates,no statistical-ly significant difference was observed between the observation group(23.53%(8/34))and the comparison group(27.27%(9/33))(χ2=0.124,P>0.05).Conclusion Diclofenac sodium combined with ozone in the treatment of knee osteoarthrosis can effectively relieve pain symptoms of patients, improve the joint function status, reduce the levels of inflammatory response, and have good med-ication safety.
