Construction of core competency evaluation index system for clinicians'trial research on drugs based on Delphi method and analytic hierarchy process

Abstract：Objective To establish the core competency evaluation index system for doctors'clinical trial research on drugs.Methods Delphi method,expert inquiry method,and analytic hierarchy process(AHP)were used to draw up the initial draft of the core competency evaluation index system for doctors'drug clinical trial research,with relevant domestic and foreign literature referred to.The core index system of doctors in drug clinical trial was established by expert inquiry and study group discussion among 18 ex-perts,and the weights of indexes were determined by the AHP.Results Expert Authority Index(Cr)score of 0.839>0.700 indicates that the results of this inquiry are relatively reliable.The correlation coefficient(ICC)of all levels of indicators within the expert group was>0.75 for the first,second and third levels of indicators,indicating statistical significance of consistency.After two rounds of inquiry,the indicator system for the core competence of drug clinical trial research doctors was determined,including 6 primary indicators,20 secondary indicators,and 115 tertiary indicators.Among the primary indicators,theoretical knowledge and basic skills had the highest combined weights,while career development ability had the lowest.The reliability analysis of the questionnaire results indicated that the indicator system demonstrated good internal consistency.Conclusion This study is the first in China to propose a system of core competencies for clinical trial investigators,and it quantifies the indicators at all in terms of importance and feasibility based on the Delphi method and AHP.It provides evidence for promoting the professional development of the clinical trial investigator team and the quality of clinical trials,and serves as a reference for the selection and training of clinical trial investigators.
