Abstract:Objective To observe the effect of oxaliplatin combined with capecitabine adjuvant chemotherapy on treatment of early-stage colon cancer patients and analyze the impact on expressions of microRNA-141(miR-141)and tumor-specific growth fac-tor(TSGF).Methods A total of 186 colorectal cancer patients who were admitted to Kailuan General Hospital from January 2022 to June 2023 were enrolled in the study and randomly divided into the control group(n=93)and the observation group(n=93).The control group received capecitabine-based adjuvant chemotherapy after radical surgery for colorectal cancer, while the observation group received oxaliplatin combined with capecitabine as adjuvant chemotherapy based on the regimen in the control group. The ob-jective response rate(ORR)and disease control rate(DCR)were compared between the two groups, and the levels of serum miR-141 and TSGF were measured before and after chemotherapy.Postoperative complications such as wound infection, pulmonary infection, and intestinal obstruction,as well as chemotherapy-related adverse reactions including gastrointestinal side effects, fatigue, leukopenia and oligochromemia, were observed and compared between the two groups. Results The ORR and DCR of the observation group were 51.61% and 91.40%,respectively,higher than 35.48% and 80.64% of the control group, and there were significant differences(χ2=4.921,4.471,both P<0.05).The serum miR-141 level(0.62±0.15)and TSGF level(60.37±9.67)U·mL-1 of the observation group were lower than those of the control group after the adjuvant chemotherapy(serum miR-141 level(0.85±0.29);TSGF level(75.21±8.63)U·mL-1),with statistically significant differences(t=6.793,11.040,both P<0.05).The incidence rates of gastrointestinal adverse reactions and fatigue of the observation group were higher than those of the control group, with statistically significant differences(χ2=11.637,9.132,both P<0.05).However,there were no significant differences in leukopenia, anemia and postoperative complica-tions between the two groups(χ2=0.550,0.808,0.522,all P>0.05).Conclusion Oxaliplatin combined with capecitabine adjuvant chemotherapy shows better efficacy,as it can control tumor progression more effectively and reduce the expression levels of miR-141,TSGF and other tumor-related biomarkers.
