Influence of ginkgo biloba drops in combination with atorvastatin calcium on carotid intima-media thickness and blood biochemical indicators in patients with essential hypertension

Abstract：Objective To investigate the effects of ginkgo biloba drops in combination with atorvastatin calcium on blood-lipids,blood pressure,carotid intima-media thickness,peripheral blood neutrophil lymphocyte ratio,and bilirubin levels in patients with essential hypertension.Methods A total of 104 patients with essential hypertension admitted to the outpatient and inpatient departments of the Hefei First People's Hospital from April 2021 to March 2024 were retrospectively collected and divided into con-trol group(53 cases,treated with atorvastatin calcium)and treatment group(51 cases,treated with ginkgo leaf dropping pills com-bined with atorvastatin calcium)according to different treatment regimens.The therapeutic effect and safety were compared between the two groups.Results The total effective rate of the treatment group(44/51,86.27% )was higher than that of the control group(36/53,67.92% )(χ2=4.930,P<0.05).After 3 months of treatment,the levels of triglyceride,low density lipoprotein,total cholesterol,24 h mean diastolic blood pressure,24 h mean systolic blood pressure and neutrophil lymphocyte ratio in the treatment group((1.32±0.41)mmol·L-1,(2.89±0.56)mmol·L-1,(3.58±0.51)mmol·L-1,(79.30±9.85)mm Hg(l mm Hg≈0.133 kPa),(128.03±12.76)mm Hg,(0.93±0.35))were lower than those in the control((1.57±0.56)mmol·L-1,(3.10±0.47)mmol·L-1,(3.97±0.64)mmol·L-1,(85.51±9.02)mm Hg,(136.25±14.89)mm Hg,(1.28±0.46)),the diffcerence was statisticlly significant(t=2.589,2.075,3.428,3.355,3.018,4.354,all P<0.05).CIMT(1.08±0.17)mm in the treatment group was less than that in the control group(1.16±0.21)mm,and the difference was statistically significant(t=2.130,P<0.05).The levels of total biliubin,indirect bilinubin and direct bilirubin in the treatment group((28.76±9.34)μmol·L-1,(23.74±7.89)μmol·L-1,(6.39±2.04)μmol·L-1)were higher than those in the control group((20.49±6.51)μmol·L-1,(17.69±5.61)μmol·L-1,(5.17±1.84)μmol·L-1),and the differences were statistically significant(t=5.255,4.520,3.197,all P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the treatment group and the control group(χ2=0.406,P>0.05).Conclusion Ginkgo biloba drops combined with atorvastatin calcium has good clinical effi-cacy in treating patients with EH since it can lower blood lipids,enhance blood pressure control,lower CIMT,and regulate neutrophil lymphocyte ratio and bilirubin levels.
