Abstract:Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of pentoxifylline combined with clopidogrel in patients with stroke com-plicated with senile frailty syndrome and its effect on quality of life. Methods A total of 78 patients with stroke complicated with senile frailty syndrome who were admitted to Zhejiang Xiaoshan Hospital from December 2021 to December 2024 were selected and divided into the control group and the combined group according to the randomized numerical table method, with 39 cases in each group. Both groups were given symptomatic treatment of basic diseases such as hypoglycemia,lipid-lowering and blood pressure control, and clopidogrel was given to the control group on the basis of symptomatic treatment, while pentoxifylline combined with clopidogrel was given to the combined group on the basis of symptomatic treatment, and the patients in both groups were treated for 3 months.Step speed, grip strength,National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale score, activity of daily living score, fibrinogen level and hypersensitive C-reactive protein level were compared between the two groups before and 3 months after treatment. The incidence of adverse reactions was assessed in both groups. Results After 3 months of treatment, step speed and grip strength of the patients in the combined group((5.96±0.24)s and(22.73±2.14)kg,respectively)were better than those of the control group((6.47±0.32)s and(20.51±1.97)kg,respectively)(t=7.962,4.766,both P<0.05).The score of activity of daily living of patients in the combined group((73.84±5.25)points)was higher than that of the control group((67.59±4.48)points)(t=5.655,P<0.05),and the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale scores, serum fibrinogen and hypersensitive C-reactive protein levels((8.04±1.72)points,(3.39±0.97)g·L-1,(6.71±0.82)mg·L-1,respectively)were lower than those in the control group((11.25±2.16)points,(4.47±1.25)g·L-1,(9.15±1.16)mg·L-1,respectively)(t=7.260,4.263,10.727,all P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the combined group and the control group(15.38% vs 10.26% )(χ2=0.459,P=0.498).Conclusion Pent-oxifylline combined with clopidogrel can effectively improve the physical and neurological functions of patients with stroke compli-cated with senile frailty syndrome, improve the quality of life of patients, reduce the inflammatory responses, and has good safety.
