Therapeutic effect of irbesartan hydrochlorothiazide combined with Compound Danshen Dropping pills on elderly patients with heart failure and its impacts on serum inflammatory factors and quality of life

Abstract：Objective To explore the therapeutic effect of irbesartan hydrochlorothiazide combined with Compound Dansh-en Dropping Pills in elderly patients with heart failure,and its impacts on heart function,serum inflammatory factors and quality of life.Methods A total of 104 elderly patients with heart failure admitted to China Resources Wuhan Steel General Hospital were selected and randomly divided into the western medicine group(52 cases)and the combination group(52 cases).The western medicine group was treated with irbesartan hydrochlorothiazide,and the combination group was treated with Compound Danshen Dropping Pills in addition to irbesartan hydrochlorothiazide.The total effective rates,cardiac function indicators,vasoactive sub-stances,exercise tolerance,inflammatory factor indicators,quality of life,and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.Results The total effective rate of the combination group(92.31%)was higher than that of the western medicine group(76.92%)(χ2=4.727,P<0.05).The left ventricular end-diastolic diameter in the combination group and the western medicine group was(47.24±4.83)mm and(54.27±5.71)mm respectively,and the difference was statistically significant(t=6.778,P<0.05).The left ventricular ejection fraction,6 min walking test and stroke output in the combination group and the western medicine group were(56.91±5.99)%,(391.02±42.38)m,(69.56±7.35)mL,(49.52±5.32)%,(366.15±38.92)m and(62.11±6.43)mL,respectively,the differences were statistically significant(t=6.652,3.117,5.501,all P<0.05).The score of Minnesota Living with Heart Failure Ques-tionnaire,endothelin-1,interleukin-8,angiotensin endothelin-II,hypersensitive C-reactive protein and brain natriuretic peptide in the combination group and the western medicine group were(17.11±2.02)points,(57.11±6.36)pg·mL-1,(45.54±5.09)ng·L-1,(15.52±3.63)pg·mL-1,(21.35±3.01)mg·mL-1,(3.86±0.47)pg·mL-1,(22.43±3.15)points,(68.52±7.41)pg·mL-1,(51.62±6.57)ng·L-1,(23.78±4.71)pg·mL-1,(28.14±4.27)mg·mL-1 and(6.61±0.95)pg·mL-1,respectively,and the differences were statistically significant(t=10.252,8.426,5.275,10.017,9.372,18.710,all P<0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions was(5.77%)and(15.38%)in the combination group and the western medicine group,with no statistically significant difference(χ2=2.542,P>0.05).Conclusion The therapeutic effect of irbesartan hydrochlorothiazide combined with Compound Danshe-n Dropping Pills for elderly patients with heart failure can effectively enhance heart function,reduce inflammatory reactions,and achieve ideal results.
