Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of ambroxol combined with montelukast and azithromycin on children with Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia(MPP).Methods A total of 92 children with MPP admitted to the Department of Pediatrics at The People's Hospital of Hebi from January 2022 to October 2024 were randomly divided into the combination group and the control group, with 46 in each group. The two groups received conventional treatments including physical cooling, cough relief and oxygen inhalation while the control group received intravenous infusions of azithromycin and ambroxol hydrochloride, and the com-bination group additionally received oral montelukast sodium tablets before bedtime. The treatment duration was 2 weeks for both groups.Clinical efficacy, adverse reactions, and changes in lung function and inflammatory markers(FEV1,FVC,PEF,TNF-α,MCP-4 and CRP)were compared between the two groups. Results The total clinical efficacy rate in the combination group was 97.83%(45/46),which was higher than that of 82.61%(38/46)in the control group(χ2=4.434,P<0.05).After 2 weeks of treatment, the FEV1,FVC and PEF in the combination group((1.95±0.45)L,(2.27±0.59)L,(3.41±0.91)L·s-1)were higher than those in the control group((1.48±0.39)L,(1.86±0.51)L,(2.96±0.68)L·s-1)(t=5.353,3.566,2.687,all P<0.05).The levels of TNF-α,MCP-4 and CRP in the combination group((36.48±3.51)ng·L-1,(32.27±3.47)pg·mL-1,(7.15±1.43)mg·L-1)were lower than those in the control group((41.37±3.24)ng·L-1,(39.86±4.51)pg·mL-1,(9.72±1.68)mg·L-1)(t=6.943,9.046,7.901,all P<0.05).The total incidence of adverse reactions was 19.57%(9/46)in the combination group and 13.04%(6/46)in the control group. There was no statistically significant difference between the two groups(χ2=0.717,P=0.397).Conclusion The combination of ambroxol, montelukast and azithromycin shows significant clinical efficacy in treating children with MPP,effectively improving lung function and reducing inflammatory re-sponses,with good safety.
