Effect of cetrorelix combined with urinary follicle-stimulating hormone on treatment of infertile patients with polycystic ovary syndrome

Abstract：Objective To explore the clinical effect of cetrorelix combined with urinary follicle-stimulating hormone on treat-ment of infertile patients with polycystic ovary syndrome.Methods The clinical data of 106 infertile patients with polycystic ovary syndrome who visited the Sichuan Jinxin Xinan Women&Children Hospital from June 2020 to June 2023 were retrospec-tively analyzed.The patients were divided into two groups,with 53 in each group according to different treatment regimens.The control group of patients started intramuscular injection of urinary follicle-stimulating hormone on the third day of their menstrual cycle(initial 5 days,150 IU per day,adjusted according to the follicle condition,with a maximum dose of 450 IU·d-¹ and a maximum injection cycle of 12 days).The study group received extra subcutaneous injection of cetrorelix acetate on this basis(from the sixth day of using urinary follicle-stimulating hormone,0.25 mg of cetrorelix acetate was injected at the same time every day until the day of HCG injection).Both groups of patients were treated for 6 menstrual cycles.The clinical efficacy,sex hormone levels(luteinizing hormone,estradiol and testosterone),pregnancy outcomes,and incidence of adverse reactions were compared between two groups before and after 6 menstrual cycles of treatment.Results After the treatment,the total effective rate in the study group was 69.81%(37/53),higher than 47.17%(25/53)in the control group(χ2=5.595,P<0.05).After the treatment,the study group exhibited lower lev-els of luteinizing hormone and testosterone((4.84±1.58)IU·L-¹ and(0.55±0.13)μg·L-¹,respectively)compared to the control group((8.63±1.14)IU·L-¹ and(0.61±0.11)μg·L-¹,respectively),while the estradiol level((1 326.35±203.65)pmol·L-¹)in the study group was higher than that in the control group((1 031.24±186.34)pmol·L-¹)(t=-14.162,-2.565,7.783,all P<0.05).After the treatment,the biochemical pregnancy rate in the study group was 22.64%(12/53),lower than 41.51%(22/53)in the control group(χ2=4.330,P=0.037),whereas the clinical pregnancy rate in the study group was 30.19%(16/53),higher than 13.21%(7/53)in the control group(χ2=4.498,P=0.034).The total incidence of adverse reactions was 16.98%(9/53)in the study group and 11.32%(6/53)in the control group,with no statistically significant difference(χ2=0.699,P=0.403).Conclusion The clinical efficacy of cetrorelix combined with urinary follicle-stimulating hormone in the treatment of infertile patients with polycystic ovary syndrome is superior to that of urinary follicle-stimulating hormone alone.Cetrorelix combined with urinary follicle-stimulating hormone can improve hormone lev-els and pregnancy outcomes,and has fewer adverse reactions.
