Effect of radical concurrent chemoradiotherapy combined with nimotuzumab on treatment of patients with ⅢC1～ⅣA stage of cervical cancer

Abstract：Objective To explore the clinical effect of radical concurrent chemoradiotherapy combined with nimotuzumab on treatment of patients with ⅢC1-ⅣA stage of cervical cancer.Methods A total of 52 patients with IIIC1-IVA stage of cervical can-cer who underwent radical concurrent chemoradiotherapy in the Qiqihar First Hospital from May 2022 to August 2024 were retrospec-tively selected as the chemoradiotherapy group.A total of 52 patients who received radical concurrent chemoradiotherapy combined with nimotuzumab were selected as the combination therapy group by propensity score matching.The chemoradiotherapy group re-ceived external conformal radiotherapy and intracavitary irradiation combined with cisplatin chemotherapy.The combination therapy group received nimotuzumab treatment on the basis of the chemoradiotherapy group.The clinical efficacy,changes in tumor volume,serum biomarker levels(squamous cell carcinoma antigen(SCC)and carbohydrate antigen 125(CA125))and incidence of adverse re-actions were compared between the two groups.Results The objective response rate of the combination therapy group was 76.92%(40/52)after the treatment,higher than 57.69%(30/52)of the chemoradiotherapy group(χ2=4.370,P<0.05).There were no signifi-cant differences in the levels of tumor volume,SCC and CA125 between the two groups before the treatment(all P>0.05);the tumor volume,SCC and CA125 levels of the two groups were reduced after the treatment(all P<0.05),and the levels of the above indexes of the combination therapy group were lower than those of the chemoradiotherapy group((0.59±0.11)cm3 vs(0.74±0.20)cm3,(1.50±0.18)μg·L-1 vs(1.61±0.21)μg·L-1,(14.72±2.55)U·mL-1 vs(16.16±2.26)U·mL-1)(t=4.739,2.868,3.048,all P<0.05).There were no significant differences in the incidence rates of leukopenia,nausea/vomiting,radiation proctitis and radiation cystitis between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion The nimotuzumab combined with chemoradiotherapy regimen can accelerate tumor volume reduc-tion and decrease the levels of serum markers,demonstrating favorable efficacy in patients with ⅢC1-ⅣA stage of cervical cancer.
