Abstract:Objective To observe the effect of tigecycline combined with imipenem-cilastatin on treatment of patients with carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae infection so as to offer guidance on clinical treatment. Methods A total of 134 patients with carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae infection who were treated in The 904 Hospital of PLA Joint Logistic Support Force from January 2022 to December 2024 were prospectively selected as the research subjects and randomly divided into the control group(n=67)and the observation group(n=67).The control group was given tigecycline alone, while the observa-tion group was treated with tigecycline combined with imipenem-cilastatin.The clinical efficacy, bacterial clearance rates, levels of serum white blood cells(WBC),C-reactive protein(CRP),procalcitonin(PCT),and the incidence rates of adverse reactions were observed and compared between the two groups after treatment for 10 d.Results The total effective rate of the observation group was 92.54%(62/67),higher than 80.60%(54/67)of the control group(χ2=4.107,P=0.043).The bacterial clearance rate of the observation group was 89.55%(60/67),higher than 76.12%(51/67)of the control group(χ2=4.215,P=0.039).After the treatment, the levels of WBC,CRP,and PCT concentration of the observation group were respectively(7.38±2.45)×109·L-1,(45.72±11.38)mg·L-1 and(7.38±2.84)μg·L-1,lower than(8.55±2.14)×109·L-1,(56.26±10.56)mg·L-¹ and(10.59±3.31)μg·L-1 of the control group(t=2.944,5.557,6.024,all P<0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions was 14.93%(10/67)in the observation group,16.42%(11/67)in the control group and there was no significant difference between the two groups(χ2=0.056,P>0.05).Conclusion Tigecycline com-bined with imipenem-cilastatin demonstrates effective clinical results and a high bacterial clearance rate in treating carbapenem-resis-tant Klebsiella pneumoniae infection, with favorable safety and no major adverse reactions.
