Advancement in research of adverse reactions caused by venlafaxine in treatment of depression

Abstract：Depression is a global multiple disease that seriously endangers human health.Increasing the levels of monoamines in the brain through drug action is currently the main means of treating depression.Venlafaxine is a commonly used drug for the treat-ment of depression.It can effectively regulate the levels of 5-hydroxytryptamine(5-HT)and norepinephrine(NE)in the brain and im-prove anxiety and low mood(depression).However,patient's concerning about its multiple adverse effects limits its application.This article summarizes the research progress on adverse drug reactions caused by venlafaxine in the treatment of depression by searching domestic and foreign literature,aiming to provide a reference for the safe use of venlafaxine in clinical practice.
