Abstract:Objective To evaluate the clinical effectiveness of weisu granules in combination with quadruple therapy for the management of chronic gastritis associated with helicobacter pylori(HP)infection. Methods A total of 86 patients diagnosed with HP infectious chronic gastritis admitted to Meishan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Chengdu Seventh People's Hos-pital between November 2020 and November 2023 were selected and divided into an observation group and a control group using a random number table method, with 43 in each group. The patients in the control group underwent quadruple therapy for HP eradica-tion,whereas those in the observation group were administered with a combination therapy that included weisu granules in addition. After 14 days of treatment, the clinical symptom improvement, serum inflammatory factor levels,E-cadherin levels, gastroscopy mu-cosal sign scores, gastric function serological indicators,HP eradication rate and HP infection recurrence rate were determined and compared between the two groups. Results In the observation group, the overall effective rate for alleviating symptoms reached 92.86%(39/42),surpassing the control group's rate of 73.81%(31/42),the disparity observed between these two groups was found to be statistically significant(χ2=5.486,P=0.019).After treatment, the levels of serum interleukin 6(IL-6)and tumor necrosis factor α(TNF-α)in the two groups were lower than those before treatment, and the levels of IL-6 and TNF-α in the observation group((133.36±40.27)ng·L-1,(402.93±39.87)pg·mL-1)were lower than those in the control((179.61±41.85)ng·L-1,(579.78±40.29)pg·mL-1)(t=5.161,20.220,both P<0.05).The level of E-cadherin in the two groups was higher than that before treatment, and the level of E-cadherin in the observation group was higher than that in the control, and the difference was statistically significant((189.76±18.32)mg·mL-1 vs(158.61±17.45)mg·mL-1,t=7.979,P<0.001).The total score of gastroscopic mucosal signs in the two groups was lower than that before treatment, and the total score of the observed gastroscopic mucosal signs was lower than that in the control((3.55±1.31)points vs(4.81±1.48)points,t=4.631,P<0.001).The levels of pepsinogen Ⅰ(PGⅠ)and pepsinogen Ⅱ(PGⅡ)in the two groups were lower than those before treatment, but the levels of PGⅠ and PGⅡ in the observation group((111.78±18.06)μg·L-1,(9.07±0.98)μg·L-1)were higher than those in the control group((97.17±12.24)μg·L-1,(8.08±0.96)μg·L-1),the differences were statistically significant(t=5.825,4.677,both P<0.05).The eradication rate of HP was 88.10%(37/42)in the observation group and 66.67%(28/42)in the control. The distinction observed between the two groups was found to be statistically significant(χ2=5.509,P=0.019).In the observa-tion group, the rate of recurrence for helicobacter pylori(HP)infection was recorded at 4.76%(2/42),whereas the control group ex-hibited a recurrence rate of 19.05%(8/42).The disparity observed between these two groups reached statistical significance(χ2=4.086,P=0.043).Conclusion The combination of Weisu granules with quadruple therapy demonstrates significant clinical effectiveness in managing chronic gastritis since it can effectively improve gastric mucosal inflammatory response, increase HP eradication rate, and reduce recurrence rate.
